Five Smart, Healthy, Fit things to do during quarantine; or any other time! HH

Brush your teeth longer & better! There is no contest between manual and electric. Switch and you’ll be amazed how much cleaner your teeth are. And occasionally before you brush dip your wet toothbrush with paste into some baking soda—this really helps with scrubbing teeth!

Switch to skinny cocktails vs. wine /beer. The caloric content and carbs of wine/beer mean you ideally don’t want to imbibe them every night. If you like to drink in the evening; I recommend a skinny cocktail. This basically entails vodka and La Croix (or any analog to La Croix). The reason La Croix became so popular is there is no sweetener; AND no artificial sweetener. Both of which are not good for you! You want to reduce or eliminate as much sugar from your diet as you can; AND artificial sweeteners confuse your liver and are no bueno.

If this drink is too plain for you; add some chunks of real fruit and/or tart pure cherry juice. Just a few drops and you have a really good cocktail! Cheers!

Walk over 10G each day. Do whatever it takes to make this happen! The easiest way is a fitness tracker (Fitbit etc.)—make yourself walk your errands; walk in your neighborhood etc. If you rack up 10 thousand steps a day (the recommended amount)—you will see results… (obviously combined with sensible eating!)

Eat more beans and pulses[lentils]. Use slow cooker. Cook your own beans & lentils in your slow cooker. Couldn’t be easier. Serve yourself out portions when you’re hungry. Top with salsa and Pico de Gallo & Jalapeño peppers. You’ll be getting fiber AND protein and will never be hungry! Top with a fried egg & hot sauce; yum!

Write. Write… journal; ideas, lyrics, poetry; random thoughts– just write! Write out first a list of things you’ve always wanted to write—then start working and writing on them each and every day. This could turn into a song, a poem, or a book! It will also be priceless down the line when you revisit your writings.
